Close Integration

Close OAuth connection, meeting notes and call logging synced to Leads.

Close Connection

We use OAuth 2.0 to securely connect with your Close account. No API keys or credentials are needed — just authorize access through Close.

  1. Navigate to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Find "Close" in the integrations list
  3. Click Connect
  4. You will be redirected to Close to authorize the connection
  5. Log in with your Close account and grant access
  6. You will be redirected back to EffiClose automatically
  7. A setup wizard will open — walk through the steps to configure meeting filters and visibility
  8. The integration status will show as "Connected"
Note: The Close account you use to authorize the connection determines the permissions for reading and writing data. Make sure this account has access to Leads and Activities in your Close organization.

Setup Wizard

After authorizing the connection, a guided setup wizard walks you through five steps:

  1. Authentication — Confirms your OAuth connection is active
  2. Test Record — EffiClose creates a test Note and Call on an existing Lead in your Close account to verify that permissions are configured correctly. These test records are marked with an "EffiClose Test" prefix for easy identification.
  3. Meeting Filters — Configure which meetings should trigger CRM updates
  4. Visibility — Control who on your team can see the integration and its synced data
  5. Review & Activate — Review your configuration and activate the integration
Important: The test record step requires at least one Lead to exist in your Close account. If your account has no Leads, create one before setting up the integration. Also check that your Close user has permission to create Notes and Calls.

What You Can Do After Setup

Once connected, EffiClose automatically enriches your Close CRM with meeting intelligence:

  • Lead matching: Meeting participants are matched to existing Close contacts by email and resolved to their parent Lead. All meeting data is attached to the Lead record.
  • Meeting notes: After each meeting, an AI-generated summary note is created and attached to the relevant Lead. The note includes a structured summary, action items, and a link to the recording transcript.
  • Call logging: Meetings are logged as outbound calls on the matched Lead with title, duration, summary, and recording link (when available).
  • Re-sync past meetings: You can re-sync previously processed meetings to update Close with the latest data.
Note: Close uses a Lead-centric model — all activities (notes and calls) are attached to Leads, not individual Contacts. EffiClose resolves the participant email to a Contact in Close, then finds the parent Lead to attach the meeting data. If a participant email does not match any Contact in Close, the meeting data for that participant is skipped.

Troubleshooting

Connection issues:

  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting the integration
  • Ensure the Close account you used to authorize has API access enabled
  • Check that your Close organization allows third-party OAuth connections
  • A refresh token keeps the connection active — you should not need to re-authorize periodically

Sync errors:

  • Disconnect and reconnect the integration
  • Verify the authorized account has proper permissions for creating Notes and Calls
  • Review error messages in the integration status page
  • If a participant email does not match any Contact in Close, meeting data for that participant is skipped — this is expected behavior, not an error

Permission issues:

  • Ensure the authorized account has access to Leads and Activities
  • Check Close user roles and permissions
  • If the setup wizard test record step fails, the account may be missing create permissions for Notes or Calls, or may have no Leads in the account
