Microsoft To Do Integration

Microsoft To Do connection via OAuth, task list sync, personal task creation, AI-powered task suggestions.

Microsoft To Do Connection

We use OAuth to securely connect with your Microsoft account. No API keys or developer setup is needed — you authorize EffiClose directly through Microsoft.

  1. Navigate to SettingsIntegrations
  2. Find "Microsoft To Do" in the integrations list and click Connect
  3. You will be redirected to Microsoft — sign in with your Microsoft account (personal or work/school) and authorize EffiClose
  4. Select the task list where new tasks will be created
  5. EffiClose creates a test task in the selected list to verify that permissions are configured correctly
  6. The integration status will show as "Connected"
Permissions: During authorization, EffiClose requests read and write access to your Microsoft To Do task lists and tasks. A refresh token is used to keep the connection active — you do not need to re-authorize periodically.
Personal tasks only: Microsoft To Do is a personal task manager. Tasks created through EffiClose are added to your own task lists — they cannot be assigned to other team members.

Meeting Action Items to Tasks

After a meeting finishes, EffiClose extracts action items from the transcript and creates them as tasks in your connected Microsoft To Do list.

  • Task Title: The action item text becomes the task title
  • Notes: Additional context from the meeting, including referenced assignee and meeting timestamps, is added to the task body
  • Due Date: When a deadline is mentioned in the meeting, it is set as the task due date

AI-Powered Task Suggestions

After a meeting, EffiClose analyzes the transcript and action items to suggest new Microsoft To Do tasks. Suggestions include the task title, notes, and due date when available.

  • Suggestions appear as "pending" for you to review and approve before any tasks are created in Microsoft To Do
  • Duplicate detection prevents suggesting tasks that already exist in your task list
  • Approved suggestions are created as tasks in your configured task list

  • Disconnect and reconnect the integration
  • Verify the user account has proper permissions
  • Review error messages in the integration status page

Permission issues:

  • Ensure your Microsoft account has Microsoft To Do enabled
